vOID Live CD Mixes
Our standards
are high, so if it's here, it's good. We offer a diversity of music,
including culturally inspired Lounge, Nu Jazz, Deep House, Soul and
Reggae to name a few. The vOID CD's can be bought individually or
as a box set.
There is a suggested $12 donation for each CD, while box sets of five
or six include one free CD. All proceeds go to the DJ's and to CD
production.

Los Amigos Invisibles
DJ's Afro and Chulius bring their Super Sancocho party to vOID in
between their live shows as Los Amigos Invisibles. Here, they chill
out and celebrate with a mix of Latin, soul and funk.
Hitoshi
DJ Hitoshi of Satiate (every other Friday), comes to vOID by way
of Japan and Harlem, NY. Hitoshi's signiture mix is presented here
with a cultural blend of Nu Jazz, Afro beats, hip-hop, scratch tracks,
soul and deep house. It all makes for a great balance and a seamless
mix.
Ray Velasquez
vOID resident DJ, Ray Velasquez formerly of Mondo Bossa fame delivers
a tasteful set of multicultural inspired Bossa, Afro and Jazz beats
that soothe the soul. Ray's CD is highly recommended. You can catch
him at various spots around town.
Emile
DJ Emile comes downtown by way of the Bronx bringing with him a
variety of soul, funk, and a little R&B. This retro style mix
is a good selection of 70's influence at it's best. It's an early
evening favorite of vOID making it good for daytime or nighttime
groove.
Eric Waite
DJ Mxylplix shows us how a DJ can be considered a musician in his
own right. This CD has a great vibe from beginning to end, with
break beats, soul, Nu-Jazz, trip hop, a pinch of this, and a dash
of that. The transitions are tight and the DJ is talanted.
Pablo Sanchez
Jo-dee
DJ Jo-dee, the taller half of In vitro, spins a great set of soulful
yet rhythmic deep house. This CD is a balanced mix of vocal and
instrumental tracks ala Sade with many gems among them.

Brian B.
DJ B2 of vOID dedicates this CD to the FDNY and to those lost in
the tradgedy of 9/11/2001. "Peace On Earth" proceeds will
go to the FDNY. The CD includes music by Air, St. Germaine, Hooverphonic,
Pat Matheny, Bossa Mundo, Break 'N Bossa, Ultramarine and various
others ($15.00)
Taka
DJ Taka formerly of Satiate delivers the goods on this highly reccomended
CD. Taka's sound is down tempo but energizing and and jazz inspired.
It's a day and night time listening treat from beginning to end.
Chris Fatherley
DJ Fatherley stops in on occasion to serve up a tasteful helping
of soulful music. Here, he delivers a mellow and soulful set of
reggae that is good from beginning to end.
Jin Seow
Jeannie Hopper
DJ Jeannie Hopper of Liquid Sound Lounge Saturday 6-9PM on WBAI
99.5 FM stops in on occasion to hang out and spin some vinyl. Here,
she puts together a great 74 minute set that even includes a play
list. As always, we look forward to her next visit.
LIVE AT vOID: Alice
Cohen, Explosion Robinson, and Velcro Fastener
This CD (recorded live 9/06/01) includes three acts as mentioned
above. Alice Cohen delivers a refreshing set on keyboard and vocals,
while the other chaps follow with interesting sample sets.
